What is Life? I think, every one of us has a different imagination of what life is. I only want to introduce a few facets of Life here..

Steirischer Panther

Believe it or not, this is my first attempt to create a collage made from metal.

For those who haven't met the displayed creature yet: this is the beloved Styrian Panther; "Steirischer Panther" in German; the heraldic animal of Styria(a state of Austria). [On the right side you can see the coat of arms in colour and the flag in the back.]

Since I am from Graz, the capital of Styria, I felt the need to have my own Panther. Don't get me wrong - such patriotism isn't that popular around here[as of 2012], especially among the younger generations. Though as I felt becoming more and more connected to my home during the last few years, I just - well, felt the need to express that I love my home. It is a beautiful place and though I'd like to run away and see all other places in the world, I still love being here.

This collage is made from many pieces of 1mm copper plate, a selection of pieces cut from one entire A4 copper plate. I drew them on paper before and chose in the end. (There's still twice as much, but I will find a use for it some day. :) )
I soldered the ground layer and cut it by hand with a metal saw after a self drawn template. After a couple of pieces added on top, I cut the edges again.
Then I cleaned it, sandblasted the whole piece and finished the middle layer with a sandpaper wrapped file.

Time: ~3 days

Reference: www.steiermark.at/cms/bilder/6… (unfortunately I couldn't find such a detailed version in colour. *grrr*)

Though I own this Panther now, I don't own our coat of arms. :| Still I think it is old enough to be free for patriots to use it, not?

Life

I thought of cells when creating this piece. It thought of growth in nature.

You, however may interptret it the way you like to, because it's life. Life is individual.

Summerflower

I just liked both shots. On the one in the grass the colours are brighter and the you can see the full beauty of the amber, but the other shows how glossy the surface of the enamel actually is.

Fall of Mankind

Shattered by our mistakes, we will see what we caused by being foolish enough to not learn from them.
Though when we see, it will be too late.
Too late for us.

But not for Earth.

The Earth will recover.
Earth will make the best of what we left behind.
There will be a Planet Earth after the Fall Of Mankind.

It will look different, yes.

But it also looked different before we were, didn't it?

This piece of jewellery symbolises all that will remain in the end: a barely recognisable pile of rubble. Wreckage. And across the ring itself runs to not anymore beating pulse.

Teardrop of Heaven

Up behind the clouds - far in the distance - out of reach for a mortal being's hands - out of sight for every mortal being's eyes - an Angel, yet divine, cried a tear.
A tear for those mortal beings far away, those beings that are not aware of what they cause by their blindness.
It fell down onto their home, into the hand of one of them -  into the hand of one who isn't blind and knows the tear wasn't just a raindrop.
By that moment the tear was aware of being caught by someone different and froze in surprise - in surprise of having fallen not completely justified, as there are still some that aren't blind.
And there, another two tears fell from the Angel's eye, one of happiness for having found this being and one for the being itself, as it remains unheard.

Petrus Cross

Mostly wrong interpreted ;)
I'm not worshiping any devils or demons - I'm just remembering, how much Petrus had to suffer.

Pretend

The idea was simple. I had this drop of pewter, I liked it's shape, I like the golden/silver-contrast, so I framed it in brass and drilled a hole into the whole thing(was the most difficult part). For the title: It might be mistaken for silver and gold, not?

Material: pewter set in brass, cord(don't know the material of it.)
Size: about 15mm, 7mm thick

Oh I love the contrast the colour of the background creates! ^^

Linked

Everything in the world is connected to each other.
We cannot escape this fact.
