Nirn - a world full of beauty

I started the "Nirn Journey"-Series to show various apects of this planet's landscape, namely the world in the "Elder Scrolls"-Series by Bethesda Softworks.

The idea is simple. I play one of the games and when I get to see a beautiful mood or a special angle in a special place, I pause the game, get my camera and make a quick photo of the TV screen to cath the moment.

These photos are usually crappy as the moments pass by very fast and cameras don't really get along well with old TVs. But they don't need to be perfect as they are just the memo and reference for later painting this scene digitally.
(I do this similarly with other games ;) )

Markarth Sunrise

Finally! My first Nirn Journey work!  =D

And it is, unexpectedly, not my first house on Tamriel, but the first sunrise from ANY of my houses! Incredible, how long I could play the series without catching a sunrise by one of my estates.
So, this is a painting of what I saw when I luckily left Vlindrel Hall in Markarth at the right early daytime. I didn’t plan it, therefore the weather was wonderful. ;P I’ve seen beautiful northern lights from up there, spooky clouds, mystic fog – but this gentle sunrise with lavender light slowly falling into the remaining blue of the night just beat it.
I hope you like it as much as I did.
