Impressions

Snowbelle

THE BACKGROUND IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SOFT, FOGGY SKY BLUE!!! IF IT ISN'T, YOUR SCREEN IS TOO BRIGHT!!! TILT IT PLEASE!

Some of you might remember April 1st 2012? Yes, it's long ago.

I started this back then in my first Livestream ever, to celebrate DeviantArt's April Fools Day Challenge. That year, cats took over the page and kidnapped Fella, the mascot of DeviantArt. To free the poor thing, we all had to make positive cat art, showing how amazing cats are.
In short - pay them a tribute and you get a General Whiskers Badge..

Unfortunately I called it quits after about an hour and a half. Though I wanted to finish it...which I did on August 12th, in almost the same time. A timeplapse of the stream can be watched below.

Sailing

I already wanted to go to bed when the radio played "Sailing" by Rod Steward. It just struck me. I had this picture in my mind and I had to paint it.

I'm lucky to have the song on my laptop, so I put on my earphones and set the song in a loop. The radio was still playing in the background but I could barely hear it.

I must admit, I never saw the video, so I don't know whether there's such a scene in it or not. This is simply what came to my mind.

Sci-Fi

Birth of the Venus

Humans strive after Beauty. Humans need love. Unfortunately we stick to ideals of beauty. But in truth, it is love we can't exist without.

Gods, most of all the good ones, were always displayed as beauties. Aesthetic, ideal, pristine.

The best example is – the Goddes of Love. (how ironic)

In Greek mythology, Aphrodite
In Roman, Venus

One and the same beauty, born for giving life, for giving comfort.

One of the most famous examples of Venus der is Sandro Botticelli’s interpretation of her birth.

But what is beauty and love in a distant future? Mankind always worried about their future. They daydream about the most utopistic machines. But when doing so, they mostly forget that they are the ones to set the beginning of the so called future. Where their acts will actually lead to, nobody will ever know. Life is too short for it.

So what will be beauty in future? Ideal love? What's the Venus in a vision of the future? A bred ideal mother? Equal in beauty, fertility and stamina? A strong Goddess, invulnerable and still utmost beautiful?
Created - not by Mother Nature. Created, by the species human.

Icy Morning

From a soldier's diary:

... A cold, icy blue and white in the middle of a freezing hell.
The poisonous lake, slightly glowing, mysterious to my eyes.

So it was, on my first day here. But after three months on this damn planet, it sucks. One would think, the scientists found a material that's resitant, but the liquid is too dangerous. The only thing that can stand it is that black rock most of the planet is made of. And this stuff is hard enough to break any tool we came up with. No chance to modify it in any way. Not even enormous heat can break it.

Everything on this planet hurts. Even the snow, not only because of the temperature. It hurts the eyes if you forget to activate the extra shield before the sun rises. Damn sun. Cold gas is the brightest.
That whole planet sucks. The only beauty is - the sun - before it finally crosses the horizon. If it has, you'd better have four full magazines and quick feet ..

Unfortunately the beautiful clouds disappear behind the data on the soldier's visor.

Meaningful

Give it some water, please!

I don't really think I need to say something about the message.

Time: 4h
Reference: Photo of myself >.< She doesn't look like me anymore.

After spending 3 hours on the face I got a bit lazy on the hand. And yes, I know that the source of light is a different one on the hand. Crazy, isn't it? But I felt like it. So, accept it.

The topic in Drawing & Painting class was "Balance / Harmony"

We can just find a balance in our life and live in harmony if we believe in our hopes concerning good things. Hope is like a light on a dark horizon. The tree had always been a symbol for life, for hope of a future to come. This special tree shines the light of hope on everybody who dares to believe it is there. And if the longing for hope is strong enough, this tree might drop a glowing ball of hope fore somebody who needs it...

This is actually the 2nd step of the work. The 1st was a sketch with colour pencils, the 3rd I'll do with acrylics.

Never coming back again

Life.

"What is it?"
I don't know. I have some ideas though.

"Who are we?"
Some will find out, some won't.

"Why are we here?"
I think, each of us have a task.

"Where do we go?"
I don't know where we go when we're done with our task.

All I know is that there is the moment when we go. We take on another task. We don't know when it will be. But I believe, we recognize the moment when it is near, though others won't.

She was there - and suddenly she was gone. She took her smile with her. A smile which expressed joy of being alive. Now I wonder - was it real? Or was it just a mask? Covering her suffering? She was there - having a helping hand for everyone. Having a smile for everyone. Now she's gone. And she won't come back. Never again.

October 3rd 2010 a smile left the world. She had a task. What for? Being torn out of the world - probably even with pain. I think, a lot of pain. But the smile was there. From the beginning on. Always warm, always giving hope. I think, she finished her task, as her smile remains and those she had helped will never forget her.
